. Nittany Lions . 10. team. 491. .

Pat Chambers is still somehow the head coach at Penn State, but that could come to a change after this year. He doesn’t have All-Big Ten player Lamar Stevens anymore and even with him for four years they weren’t that great.

Last year was somewhat of a breakthrough as the Nittany Lions climbed all the way to number 10 in the AP Poll, but quickly lost two games and dropped back down. They were a very good team last year, but once the spotlight was on them they seemed to wilt. That could be directly tied to the head coach.

Chambers has never been a fan favorite in State College and with the way the roster is constructed this year, it may be his last year. Losing Stevens and Mike Watkins will be too much for Penn State to overcome this year.

The Nittany Lions do return Myreon Jones and Myles Dread and they will be the keys to how well this team does. But without a lot of experience down low, teams will be able to key on the two guards.

Penn State looked like they were on their way up, but last year looks to be more of a mirage than a sign of things to come.
