NCAA Basketball: Ok State, Va Tech, and Minnesota among Sean Pedulla’s top 8
By Ian Mumm
Oklahoma State Cowboys
It’s no surprise to see the Cowboys ending up on Pedulla’s final list. The in-state program has been very active on the recruiting trail and has snagged a lot of talented players headlined by 2020 #1 Cade Cunningham. If his projected departure from the team occurs after next season, Oklahoma State will be looking to add valuable depth to their backcourt to maintain their momentum.
The Cowboys are another program on Pedulla’s list needing to add more consistent perimeter shooting and more efficient scoring. Offseason additions of Rondel Walker and Ferron Flavors will help to curb some of those woes next season. However, Pedulla’s production as a rebounder and playmaker on the offensive end mirrors current guard Isaac Likekele and could signal early playing time.
Oklahoma State was severely lacking in offensive production by way of assists last season. Pedulla can provide immediate improvement in that particular area and will help to keep defenses honest through his ability to get inside the paint. His court vision will not only bring along better chances for shooters on the perimeter but also create easier opportunities for frontcourt players at the rim.
Pedulla may need to compete hard for playing time with the Cowboys, which he is not averse to, but his potential impact with the team cannot be minimalized.
