Best Season: 2016-2017, that season Iowa State won the Big 12 Tournament, finished tied for 2nd place in the Big 12 regular season standing, won 24 games that season, and defeated Nevada by 11 points in the NCAA Tournament.

Biggest Regular Season Win: In the middle of January in 2016 and ranked No. 19 in the country, Iowa State defeated top-ranked Oklahoma 82-77 for their first victory over a No. 1 team since beating the Kansas Jayhawks in 1957.

Defining moment: In early February of the 2016- 2017 season, Prohm lead his team to a shocking victory over the third-ranked Jayhawks. It was a high scoring game that went into overtime as the Cyclones ended up winning by a score of 92–89. It snapped Kansas’s long 54-game home winning streak. The victory was a turning point for Iowa State and their head coach Prohm as they Cyclones won six of their last eight games in Big 12 regular season play and finished Big 12 play by winning the Big 12 Tournament.

Best NCAA Tournament Victory: Iowa State’s 78-61 victory over coach Chris Beards’ Little Rock team in the 2nd round of the tournament earning the Cyclones a berth to the Sweet Sixteen.
