2020-21 season outlook

Badgers fans, try to enjoy this season.

After Wisconsin loses their final game (or cuts down the nets) there will be large turnover in Madison.

Five crucial members of the team will be on their way out, and a new class of hungry kids will make their way into the locker room for the 2021-22 season.

Cherish the 2020-21 group as much as possible.

I don’t want to call it a championship or bust season, but that just may be what it is for Greg Gard and his squad.

The talent is there, the experience is there, and the intensity is there.

But can they put it all together for a 20 game regular season and then turn it up a notch come March?

These questions will have to be answered and answered fast.

There is no time for early season road bumps and miscues.

This season will be like no other, and it is up to the players to realize and seize the opportunity that is in front of them.

I expect the Badgers to finish top 5 in the Big Ten standings and make a semi-deep run in the Big Ten tournament this season.

Where exactly they will place is obviously to be determined, but with the talented group of guys in that locker room, I expect nothing less than a 5 seed.

If they can figure out how to deal with the hype and excitement of being a highly ranked and highly coveted team, they can go far.

Expect the Wisconsin Badgers to be in the mix for a top 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

And when that time comes we’ll have to just wait and see what happens from there.
