Ohio State Buckeyes

Senior Kyle Young will start at center for Ohio State but clearly, they’ll need to have a replacement ready for the following season. Former three-star recruit Ibrahima Diallo is around for depth but it’s not clear if he’s starting-caliber in the Big Ten.

There are two other bigs besides Bediako that the Buckeyes are currently after. They’d love to land Chet Holmgren, the top frontcourt target in the 2021 recruiting class. However, the view is that Gonzaga, Minnesota, or North Carolina have a much better shot. The other is Micawber Etienne, a top-50 center whose recruitment is wide open at the moment.

Depending on how Ohio State feels, they may focus more on Etienne rather than Bediako. The program already has done work on next year’s class, including landing top-30 shooting guard Malaki Branham, along with four-star combo guard Meechie Johnson. Top-100 power forward Kalen Etzler is also part of the class.

With small forward transfers Seth Towns and Justice Sueing, Jr. on the roster as well, which leaves mainly the center position as a main need for the program. Bediako can continue Ohio State’s history of great productive centers. There are legit selling points for why he should choose them but again, Etienne is another option available.
