Baylor Basketball: 3 reasons Bears will be better than Kansas in 2020-21
By Andrew Tineo
1. The lack of a home-court advantage
This is not just a Baylor-Kansas “issue” as just about every school in the NCAA, at a minimum will be limiting fans for the 2020-2021 season. For the Bears, however, this may play into their favor.
It took Baylor until last season to get their very first win inside Allen Fieldhouse, with Devon Dotson battling injuries and Azubuike being limited in his shots. This season may play even more in favor of Baylor, with a normally electric Kansas crowd being slimmed down dramatically.
Baylor has pulled off multiple upsets over the Jayhawks in Waco, so winning in Waco hasn’t been too much of an issue. The Bears have beaten Kansas in Waco three times over the past decade and had two come down to the wire.
Baylor is more than well equipped to reload after their success last year and the key pieces returning in 2020-2021. Kansas has been the target over the past 15 seasons and looks to be a lock for a top 3 team in the conference once again.
These two created two instant classic games, for both programs. They are more than capable of delivering more this upcoming season. However this season, I think the Bears get the best of the Jayhawks, both times they meet this season.
