team. 64. . . . Detroit Pistons.

Picks: 7

Needs: Cap Flexibility, Point Guard for the Future.

After collecting a mere 20 victories in 2019-20, the Detroit Pistons are set to kick off a full-scale rebuild this offseason.

Selecting seventh overall, the Pistons need a young prospect to build around going forward with few assets or young stars to mention at the moment. Rumored targets include German guard Killian Hayes, Israeli forward Deni Avdija, and Auburn’s Issac Okoro as Detroit can’t afford to mess up another chance to add young and controllable talent to their roster.

Other moves they could be pursuing include a trade for Derrick Rose following a successful first season in Detroit and attempting to offload the salaries of Blake Griffin or Tony Snell if possible.

With over $60 million in salary commitment set to come off the books, the Pistons must be smart to retain cap space and build the right way as unless they pull off an expensive and unlikely salary dump, they face two more seasons before they’re finally able to rid themselves of potentially the league’s worst contract in Blake Griffin.
