UConn Huskies

If Atkinson enjoyed his time up in the northeast, he could opt to stay there with the Huskies, who are now playing in the much more prestigious Big East Conference. Coach Dan Hurley already has a mid-major transfer from the region on the roster in Tyrese Martin from Rhode Island.

Frontcourt play has been the biggest weakness for UConn in the past several years. And even if that changes this season with improved play, the key rotation pieces (Tyler Polley, Isaiah Whaley, and Josh Carlton) are all seniors. Young bigs Akok Akok and Adama Sanogo are talented but not true power forwards with great offense. For one year, Atkinson can provide the program with an efficient double-digit scoring production.

Florida State Seminoles

As a native of West Palm Beach, Florida, Atkinson may have a desire to play close to home, which would give a number of power conference programs a potential shot, including Florida State. Right now, an argument can be made that this is the best program in the state of Florida, making them even more appealing for the Yale forward.

Even without five-star recruit Bryce McGowens as part of the class, the Seminoles still have a top-5 group with other five-star commits, Matthew Cleveland and Jalen Warley. Bigs John Butler Jr. and Naheem McLeod are there as well. The one position that could use an upgrade is at power forward, where Atkinson can slide in and be the focal big on offense. He could be playing for a Final Four contender if he picks Florida State, while also staying close to home.
