Georgetown Hoyas

After losing a ton of talent in last season’s exodus, Coach Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas did a fairly good job in bringing in talent, both for this season via transfers (Donald Carey, Jalen Harris, and  Chudier Bile), along with the class of 2021 (Jalin Billingsley and top-100 center Ryan Mutombo). With both Bile and Jamorko Pickett both seniors, there will be a need for frontcourt help that isn’t a freshman for the following season.

Along with playing for a Hall of Famer in Coach Ewing, Georgetown represents a great chance for playing time for Atkinson. Teams such as Duke and Gonzaga have already reached out but there isn’t a clear path for a rotation spot there. The Hoyas have much more room and playing in the Big East isn’t a bad thing either.

Miami Hurricanes

Another “local” option, Miami has a real case to make for the Yale forward when it comes to a ton of playing time. All of the bigs in the team’s rotation for this season (Nysier Brooks, Rodney Miller Jr., and Sam Waardenburg) are all seniors, leaving currently just Deng Gak and Anthony Walker III on the roster.

The Hurricanes have done well with their 2021 class, landing top-100 guards Jakai Robinson and Bensley Joseph. They haven’t landed any frontcourt players though, leaving a current giant hole down for the 2021-22 season. Landing Atkinson though would solve that and the transfer forward could potentially be even the to-go offensive option as well.
