Michigan Basketball: 2020-21 season preview for the Wolverines

The Wolverines should be very deep this year and 10-12 man rotation. How some of the young guys develop will determine how much of the bench Howard uses, but this team has the potential to have a bunch of guys contribute to this team this year.

Key Reserves

Austin Davis

Davis came on strong last year in relief of a struggling Jon Teske. Davis is a big body and is somewhat limited offensively, but he can finish close to the rim and is an above-average rebounder. If he can continue to get better defensively he will be a huge boost off the bench if DIcksinson gets in foul trouble or is not playing well.

Brandon Johns Jr.

Johns Jr is another guy who really shined last year. He could easily be a starter but will probably be better coming off the bench. He showed he could hit the outside shot but also battle down low. He could be the 6th man of the year in the Big Ten if he makes another jump like he did last year.

Chaundee Brown Jr.

Brown Jr could end up in the starting lineup but until we hear about his waiver, we will keep him as a reserve. He has experience and will bring another scorer to the Wolverines after transferring over from Wake Forest. He is a big-bodied guard who is a matchup problem for opposing teams.

Terrence Williams

Williams comes in as another heralded freshman recruit for Howard. He has great length and is an explosive athlete. He should be a good sub for Livers and Wagner and could see a lot of minutes this year. Williams is another guy that will give Howard some length on the court and if he can prove he can handle the Big Ten schedule could be the breakout star for the Wolverines this year.

Zeb Jackson

Jackson is the next point guard for the Wolverines, but he may have to come off the bench this year with the experience of Brooks and Smith already on the roster. There have been good reports about the talented freshman and it seems to be a matter of when not if he takes hold of the Michigan offense.
