The Seminoles will be key to more success in 2020-21

Saardar Calhoun, Junior, Guard

Sardaar Calhoun has what it takes to be the most productive bench player for the Seminoles and maybe even win ACC Sixth Man of the Year. Calhoun came to Tallahassee via Missouri State-West Plains where he earned an NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention Honor as a sophomore. He averaged 18.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game for the Grizzlies and ranked as the No. 3 overall junior college prospect in the country.

The thing that jumps right out at you on film about Calhoun is his jumper. Not only is it smooth but he can shoot from anywhere on the floor. He also could be someone for the Seminoles who starts and/or finishes fast break opportunities. He will provide a spark for the Seminoles off the bench and in the starting lineup throughout the season.

Anthony Polite, Redshirt Junior, Guard

Polite averaged six points, and three rebounds per game while shooting 40 percent from the field and 35 percent from the perimeter. He made his mark last season as a tough on-ball defender. He recorded 37 steals and earned the 2020-21 ACC Breakout Player of the Year by CBS Sports heading into this season.

Wyatt Wilkes, Redshirt Junior, Guard

Wilkes was one of the Seminoles’ best three-point shooters off the bench. According to the Seminole Productions Feature, He is the charismatic, funny guy on the team, and he adds hard work in practice to that and makes the most of his time out on the floor. Look for him to help the Seminoles when they need a shot to keep leads or extend them further.

Quincy Ballard, Freshman, Forward

Ballard came to Florida State from North Carolina’s Quality Education Academy postgraduate school where he averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds, and six blocked shots per game. He will be another player for the Seminoles on the defensive end. As a freshman, I think the first 10-12 games of the season will be pivotal for him in terms of an adjustment period.

Balsa Koprivica, Sophomore, Forward

Koprivica is known for connecting with his teammates for lobs and being a solid rebounder. He played 10 minutes per game and averaged four points and two rebounds last season. Hopefully, he will see an increase in minutes in the frontcourt rotation.
