
4. Steven Smith – La Salle Explorers
The 6-foot-9 Philadelphia Native Steven Smith led the Explorers in rebounding throughout his career and was the La Salle’s leading scorer over his last three seasons. Smith is seventh in school history with 1,940 career points and fifth in the program with 872 career rebounds.
Smith was a two-time Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year and a two-time First Team All-Atlantic 10 during his junior and senior seasons.
As a senior, Smith was an unanimous First Team All-District selection. Smith beat Xavier on the road through a seven-game winning streak. The Explorers finished 18-10 and 10-6 in conference play to finish third in the Atlantic 10.
Aside from his accolades, Steven Smith was known for his work ethic and skill on and off the court. He was not only a great athlete but, a player who made his teammates around him better.
Smith has always had a love for the city of Philadelphia. Smith grew up in Philadelphia and is a graduate of Northeast High School. After graduating from La Salle, Smith went on to play for the Philadelphia 76ers. Smith would then take his professionally career overseas in Italy and Greece. In fact, Smith won the Greek Cup in 2012.
