James Karnik’s move from the Patriot League to the ACC is a major step up for the big man out of British Columbia. However, Lehigh’s second-leading scorer and leading rebounder certainly have the size and frame to bang down low in a power conference. Should he be granted a waiver for immediate eligibility, Karnik will be fighting for a lion’s share of the minutes at the 5 position for the Eagles.

Creatively nicknamed Captain Canada due to his Canadian heritage and resemblance to Captain America actor Chris Evans, Karnik is very proud of his heritage. Fittingly, he may also be one of the captains of this Boston College team, as a senior leader on the roster. While not in line for a ton of touches on offense like he had at Lehigh, Karnik will certainly bring value to the Eagles in many aspects.

Karnik is no stranger to playing with high-level teammates either. Playing his final prep year at powerhouse Orangeville Prep, he played with five other players on this list, as well as New York Knicks forward Ignas Brazdeikis.
