Atlantic Sun

Favorite – Lipscomb

After finishing tied for third place last season, the Bisons return the clear-cut favorite to win ASUN Player of the Year in Ahsan Asadullah. The center averaged a team-leading 18.6 ppg, 10.1 rpg, and 3.9 apg for the team and along with double-digit scoring sophomore guard KJ Johnson will have the best offense in the conference without question.

Biggest threats – Stetson, Florida Gulf Coast, Liberty, and North Florida

Both Liberty and North Florida lost a ton of talent from last year, automatically bringing them down a notch. Florida Gulf Coast only won 10 total games but did go 7-9 in conference play. They bring back the vast majority of the production for this season, along with another mid-tier team in Stetson. This will be a very competitive conference overall, with a number of contenders that can win it.

America East

Favorite – Vermont

Even with two-time Conference Player of the Year Anthony Lamb, the Catamounts are still the clear-cut favorite to win the league. Stef Smith will take over as the new star of Vermont, while transfers Bernie Andre and Justin Mazzulla provide enough depth to surround Smith. Assuming that Smith does indeed take that next step in production, then it’ll be another season at the top for his team.

Biggest threats – New Hampshire and UMBC

The Retrievers have been one of the bigger thorns in the side of Vermont and should remain that way, thanks to a solid returning supporting cast. Forward Brandon Horvath and guard LJ Owens are all-conference contenders, while dynamic 5’2 point guard Darnell Rogers is back and should be healthy this season. New Hampshire bounced back nicely last season, going from 5 to 15 total games. They return just about everyone from their main rotation, making them a threat in the America East as well.
