Expectations for Oklahoma State Basketball in 2020-2021

In the year that this is, expectations for having a full college basketball season needs to be put into place. Not only that but having the NCAA Recruiting Violations may have an effect on the effort at times, knowing there won’t be an opportunity at a postseason reward.

However, Boynton put the conference on notice with the end of season run that the Cowboys had. The Cowboys may have times of inconsistency and miscommunication with the amount of youth and inexperience on the floor. However, this team from a talent perspective, is Top 4 in the conference, behind Baylor, Kansas, and Texas Tech.

Cunningham is a heavy candidate for every individual award, not only in the Big 12 but in the country. Adding Flavors is huge, as it creates a three-point threat that can take over the game from beyond the arc. Likekele is hoping to take over as the captain and can help the young talent move along.

Walker is looking to take over the full-time starting spot and that is looking more likely like next season, With Cunningham going to the NBA. Even with that Walker is a very exciting player that should keep the Cowboys an entertaining team over the course of his tenure in Stillwater.

There is a certain juice and excitement around the program and for good reason. The Cowboys have not made it past the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament since 2005 and haven’t eclipsed 22 wins since 2012-2013 with Marcus Smart.

As long as this team is playing up to their potential, they can beat any team in the conference on any given night. The expectation for the Cowboys is that they will end up near 4th or 5th place in the conference, with Cunningham being a heavy candidate for Big 12 POTY and Flavors doing the same as Newcomer of the Year.
