6. Myles Powell, G, Seton Hall

DOB:

  • June 7, 1997 (23)

SIZE:

  • 6’2″, 195 lbs

PROS:

  • A very good scorer from all over the floor
  • Above-average athlete

CONS:

  • Not a great defensive player
  • Too aggressive on offense

DRAFT GRADE:

  • Late 2nd Round – Undrafted

Myles Powell is an interesting case due to the fact that he is a proven scorer who can do it from all areas of the court. Usually, that would catch the eye of any NBA team, but with Powell, the case is different due to his inefficiency.

Powell takes a lot of shots, some of which are very questionable takes. As well he is a bit of a liability on the defensive end, which makes teams a bit weary. With all that being said, Powell’s scoring ability could appeal to a team towards the end of the second round.

5. Ty-Shon Alexander, G, Creighton

DOB:

  • July 16, 1998 (22)

SIZE:

  • 6’4″, 195 lbs

PROS:

  • Good playmaker
  • Can score from all levels
  • Length is a plus

CONS:

  • Not an elite athlete
  • A bit too passive on both ends

DRAFT GRADE:

  • Late 2nd Round – Undrafted

Ty-Shon Alexander is a combo guard who can play both on and off-ball whenever he is asked to do so. A pass-first player who can knock down his shots, Alexander’s skillset appeals to a lot of NBA teams looking for a facilitator who can also knock down his shots.

Where Alexander lacks is on the defensive end and with athleticism, as quicker players might be able to take advantage of his lack of speed for a guard. However, I believe that Alexander will be drafted towards the end of the second round, as he is a proven producer who can fit right into a team due to his pass-first mentality.

4. Naji Marshall, F, Xavier

DOB:

  • January 24, 1998 (22)

SIZE:

  • 6’7″, 220 lbs

PROS:

  • Good playmaker
  • Can score in multiple ways
  • Long
  • Good athlete

CONS:

  • No consistency whatsoever with his shot

DRAFT GRADE:

  • Late 2nd Round – Undrafted

If I was an NBA general manager and had a selection late in the second round, Naji Marshall would be one of the players I would be taking a hard look at. A productive player who really does it all offensively, Marshall is an athletic scorer who also gets his teammates involved at an above-average level.

The only knock I see with Marshall is his inability to shoot with any consistency, which could be a problem at the next level. However, I do believe the good outweighs the bad with Marshall and I definitely expect him to get serious looks at the end of the second round.
