12. Gideon George – BYU Cougars

New Mexico Junior College

While Terence Lewis provided most of the scoring production last season, George did a fair amount of the dirty work. He averaged 10.9 ppg and 8.5 rpg and had a great second-half for New Mexico JC. The 6’5 combo forward is a great athlete and defender and while still raw, had plenty of development to round out the rest of his game.

BYU has another transfer in sharpshooter Spencer Johnson but George fills a big need when it comes to toughness, rebounding, and defender. After losing Yoeli Childs and TJ Haws, the team won’t be winning many shootouts. They’ll need the Nigerian wing to have a big impact that won’t necessarily be seen on the stat sheets but will help in winning games this season.

11. Demarcus Sharp – Missouri State Bears

Colby Community College

A First-Team JC All-American, Sharp averaged 16.5 ppg and 5.6 apg last season on 44% shooting from three-point range. He did have a 33-point performance towards the end of the year but for the most part, consistently put up between 16-23 in nearly every single game. The 6’4 guard can fill up the stat sheet as well, putting up back-to-back triple-doubles for the Trojans.

The Bears lost several key players from last season, including leading scoring guard Keandre Cook. Sharp can slide right in as his replacement and very well could up similar numbers. He and another former JUCO star (Gage Prim) can be a great pairing and keep Missouri State in the top-tier of the Missouri Valley.

10. Tyron McMillian – Georgia Bulldogs

Kilgore College

The 6’10 power forward put up 10.4 ppg and 5.7 rpg on 52% shooting on a Kilgore team that featured a ton of frontcourt depth. McMillian has great talent and the Bulldogs are hoping that he can be the replacement for Rayshaun Hammonds, who went pro this offseason.

While Georgia brought in another talented JUCO transfer (Jonathan Ned) and added Virginia Tech grad transfer forward (P.J. Horne), McMillian is the only player on the roster that can play the center position in the SEC. With plenty of talented bigs in the conference, the team will need this player to come through on both ends of the court.
