4. Devon Dotson, G, Kansas

DOB:

  • August 2, 1999 (21)

SIZE:

  • 6’2″, 185 lbs

PROS:

  • High basketball IQ
  • Attacks the basket well
  • Solid all-around scorer

CONS:

  • Inconsistent shooter
  • Too aggressive at times on both ends

DRAFT GRADE:

  • Early-to-mid 2nd Round

There is a lot to like about Devon Dotson, as he has shown the capability to score from anywhere on the court at any given time. On top of being able to score, Dotson understands the game very well and isn’t afraid to get his teammates involved.

The downside of Dotson’s game is his inconsistency on both offense and defense, as he gets a bit too aggressive and finds himself in some cold spells. With that being said, I expect Dotson to be taken early in the second round of the draft.

3. Desmond Bane, G/F, TCU

DOB:

  • June 25, 1998 (22)

SIZE:

  • 6’6″, 215 lbs

PROS:

  • Great shooter
  • Has 3-and-D potential written all over him
  • Strong for his size

CONS:

  • Lacks elite athleticism
  • Struggles guarding quicker players
  • Too passive on both ends at times

DRAFT GRADE:

  • Late 1st Round – Early 2nd Round

Desmond Bane is a player who is definitely higher on my draft board than other people’s boards. Bane is naturally gifted with strength and has a great shooting touch – two qualities that are coveted for wings at the NBA level.

The only major knock on Bane is he struggles with quicker guards, so playing him at shooting guard in bigger lineups and small forward in smaller ones would be ideal. I can see Bane going anywhere from 25-35 in the draft, which would be great value in my eyes.
