Tyrell Terry to the Dallas Mavericks (No. 31)

Terry’s stock seemed to be rising as the draft approached, so seeing him fall to the second round was surprising. But, the Mavs would not let him go much further. The Stanford freshman is one of the best shooters in this draft class. Terry isn’t the best athlete, but he’s added much-needed strength in the pre-draft process.

With the Mavs, Terry will be one of many ball-handlers. He’ll be able to spot up off of Luka Doncic and fill the role of Seth Curry, who was traded on draft night. With the second unit, he can use his dynamic handle more alongside Jalen Brunson. Terry is still relatively young, but he will have time to catch up to NBA speed given the Mavs guard depth.

By the playoffs though, it wouldn’t shock me if he is a key contributor. Dallas had the highest offensive rating in the league last season, and adding Terry should only help improve that with his shooting and finishing ability.

Isaiah Joe to the Philadelphia 76ers (No. 49)

New GM Darryl Morey wasted no time by addressing the 76ers biggest need: shooting. At the beginning of the day, he traded for Danny Green. He then drafted Tyrese Maxey, traded for sharpshooter Seth Curry, and then finally added one of the best shooters in this draft in Isaiah Joe.

Joe, who finished at No. 26 on my big board, only shot 34% from three last season. But that was on a ridiculous 10.6 attempts per game. He can shoot off the catch and hit some bonkers shots off the dribble. His lack of strength and defensive concerns probably led to him falling, but he landed in an ideal scenario in Philly.

With the additions of Green and Curry, Joe won’t be tasked with too much responsibility early. But when given the chance, Joe is a good fit next to Simmons and Embiid. With Green having only one season left on his contract, Joe could be a long-term option for the Sixers on the wing.
