Kevin Marfo will be the most productive transfer

If SEC fans are not excited about the crop of freshmen entering the conference, the influx of talent transferring into the SEC should. Unlike the 2020 class, these transfers have experienced success at the NCAA level.

With the likes of Romello White (10 ppg, 9 rpg) and Dimencio Vaughn (13 ppg) joining Ole Miss, Olivier Sarr (8 ppg, 5 rpg) transferring to Kentucky, and Jordan Bruner (10 ppg) to Alabama. The transfer who will make the greatest impact is former Quinnepac leading rebounder and new power forward for Texas A&M, Kevin Marfo.

This is the second time the 6’8 power forward has transferred, this time, however, he is bringing along his 10-point average and the MAAC leading 13.3 rebounds per game to the SEC. Moving to the SEC will not cause his over 28 minutes per game to reduce in any way, nor will his field-goal attempts.

With 2019-20 seniors Josh Nebo (12.5 ppg) and Wendell Mitchell (10.2 PPG) not in the line-up and no other inside presence for the Aggies, Marfo is going to be the number option for Coach Buzz Williams.

Marfo is not the highest-skilled player transferring to the SEC this season, but his size, rebounding ability, and heightened importance for a team looking to improve upon their 10-8 conference record in order to vie for a tournament birth, Marfo will compile an impressive stat line every game.
