Boston College won’t be a cakewalk

The Boston College Golden Eagles won’t be an easy team to beat in 2020-21 as they exhibited in their 76-67 loss to No. 3 Villanova. Granted, the Golden Eagles lost but they certainly competed until the very end.

The Golden Eagles led by as many as nine points with 13:02 remaining in the game and were in prime position to pull off an upset before things sputtered on offense. They made just three field goals after holding the lead and saw the Wildcats go on a 15-4 to take the lead for good with 6:12 remaining in the game.

As they gain experience in their backcourt and their trio of Jay Heath, Wynston Tabbs and Makai Ashton-Langford learn to work together, look for them to pull off some upsets in the ACC in 2021.

Heath led the way with 16 points, Ashton-Langford finished with 15 points and Tabbs finished with 11 points while shooting 4-of-13 in his first game back since returning from injury. They also got big minutes from Rich Kelly, who had nine points off the bench.

Once they find their distributor in the bunch, it shouldn’t be hard to close games out for this squad. Jim Christian shouldn’t have to worry about being on the hot seat this season.
