Force nothing, spread the wealth

The Virginia Tech Hokies got 23 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks from Keve Aluma but, he wasn’t the only one who prospered on the floor The Hokies have used a strength-in-numbers approach to get the job done so far, and it’s working.

New addition Justyn Mutts was perfect from the field, going 3-of-3 from the field and 2-for-2 from 3-point range in the game. Tyrece Radford had just eight points on 3-of-6 shooting but he also dished out five assists and snagged 13 rebounds.

Nahiem Alleyne scored 20 points off the bench. He’s typically in their starting rotation and started 27 of 32 games in 2019-20. It didn’t slow him down at all as he powered the scoring attack for the Hokies.

Cartier Diarra stepped up big at the point guard spot off the bench when Wabissa Bede fouled out and finished with five points, three assists, and three rebounds.

With no scrimmages and no exhibition games, guys are learning to play together on the fly and it’s showing with some very unselfish basketball. As Coach Young figures out rotations from an offensive/defensive standpoint, look for this team to turn a corner.
