2. Drew Timme | 6’10 Forward | Gonzaga Bulldogs

Sophomore forward Drew Timme is having himself a breakout season with the Gonzaga Bulldogs in 2020-21. After putting up 9.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as a freshman, Timme’s production is all the way up to 23.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 60.4 percent from the field.

Gonzaga is ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll with a ton of talent in their wheelhouse with Corey Kispert (mentioned earlier), Andrew Nembhard, Jalen Suggs, and Timme in the rotation. With so much depth, there’s a reason they’re a heavy favorite to win this year’s NCAA Championship, that’s if it happens.

The Bulldogs were set to take on the No. 2 ranked Baylor Bears this past Saturday night, but the game was postponed due to positive Coronavirus tests. Gonzaga defeated Baylor in the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament 83-71.

Timme set new career-highs in scoring in the Bulldog’s victories over the Kansas Jayhawks and Auburn Tigers to kick off the season. He put up 25 points and six rebounds on 11-of-15 shooting against the Jayhawks on Nov. 26, a career-high. Then he set his career-high even higher in their next game against Auburn with 28 points and 10 rebounds on 11-of-16 shooting.

He’s certainly got the Bulldogs on the right track this season with his own flair on attacking in transition and in the halfcourt. The 6-foot-10 forward is one reason the big man and post-game is seeing a resurrection in this year’s college basketball season.
