There is no challenging the fact that the San Francisco Dons are firmly among the top 100 teams in the nation, with that said, they are also easily the highest rank opponent Virginia Basketball has faced this season. It is never a good look when you lose to the best team you have stepped on the court with early in the season, however, it can be argued that Coach Tony Bennett learned a lot about his team falling 61-60 to the Dons.

The two clear indicators of how Coach Bennett benefitted, in the highly competitive game versus the Dons, eight Cavaliers logged 10 minutes or more, with Casey Morsell getting ten and Thomas Woldetensae logging thirteen. The second indication is that the Cavaliers did not get upset once again when they outscored Kent State nine to two in overtime. Versus Kent State, eight players got at least ten minutes with Morsell and Justin McKoy getting eleven each.

On Wednesday it will be revealed just how deep Coach Bennett is willing to go. On the season ten Cavaliers are averaging double-digit minutes but with their first conference game on Dec.16, 2020, then a matchup with Villanova before strictly ACC games remain, whatever rotation Coach Bennett is going to utilize will be revealed versus Michigan State.
