Florida State Seminoles – Team will go as Scottie Barnes takes them

Credit to senior guard MJ Walker who led the Seminoles in scoring with 19 points in 41 minutes. But the hero of the night was five-star freshman Barnes, who made the game-winning runner-shot off the backboard in the last seconds of overtime. He didn’t have the best of games, finishing with nine points, four rebounds, five assists, and four steals in 30 minutes.

Barnes was the only player for Florida State to register more than one assist while playing great defense on all of the Indiana guards. His offense will come as the season goes on but having a game-winner in your second college game is a great sign of things to come for the team. The next thing to look for with the all-around playmaker is a 20+ point outing.

Indiana Hoosiers – Need more from everyone not named Trayce Jackson-Davis

The Hoosiers have a legit complaint to make at the end of regulation that maybe should’ve given them the win. Instead, they’re 3-2 and need to find offense outside of their star forward Jackson-Davis, who went for 25 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in 40 minutes.

No one else on the roster reached double figures in 45 possible minutes, with all four other starters scoring nine points exactly. With not much production expected off the bench and former top-30 freshman prospect Kristian Lander not ready to contribute at a high level, Jackson-Davis will have to go for 20+ on every night just to keep them competitive. Until that changes, Indiana will be easy to guard in league play.
