5. Who is the player that is not currently getting the recognition they deserve?– Bryan Mauro (@threecolorbeard)

As mentioned above, I only received four questions this week so I decided to add one of my own. I am going to use this platform to let the world in on a little secret. There is more basketball out there than what ESPN and the major networks put on. Mid-major and low major basketball have some tremendous talent and a lot of those players do not get near the recognition they should.

This week we are headed to the MEAC and no, this is not going to be about Makur Maker. Coppin State University which has virtually no history on the basketball court and as an HBCU is one of the programs that has to take a tremendous amount of buy games to make ends meet. This year the Eagles were able to secure a player who may very well earn the MEAC player of the year.

Anthony Tarke who is now in his third school in five years has finally found a home. Tarke started his career at NJIT and then transferred to UTEP. The guard never found much playing time at UTEP and decided to transfer again this time to the HBCU to play with his brother, and play for former Maryland star head coach Juan Dixon. The senior guard has taken his game to the next level and is scoring the basketball as he did early in his career at NJIT.

In an upset win over UNC Greensboro, the guard scored 33 points to go along with 10 rebounds and eight assists. The near triple-double helped the Eagles secure one of the biggest wins under Juan Dixon and given how good Greensboro has been lately it may be one of the biggest wins in school history.

Coppin State is going to ride Tarke for as long as they can and hope he wins them a lot of games.  He is going to take a ton of shots and play a ton of minutes but so far it is working out well for Coach Dixon and the Eagles.  This Coppin star deserves his due.
