NCAA Basketball: Missouri, San Diego State rise in latest power rankings
22. Saint Louis Billikens (4-0)
Last rank: 20
The Billikens had just one game this week, beating Central Arkansas by a final score of 88-65. Gibson Jimmerson led all scorers with 21 points, while Jordan Goodwin had yet another double-double. It was also Hasahn French’s second game back from injury, going for six points and eight rebounds in 24 minutes. This team has a tougher test this upcoming week with Indiana State, before going on the road at Minnesota.
Covid issues took away the Cardinals matchup with Wisconsin this past week, making it nearly two weeks since we’ve seen them play. The bright spot of that is Louisville can soon get back key players Malik Williams and Charles Minlend, who are still out via injuries. ACC play starts for them this week with NC State but they should finally be getting healthy soon.
It looked as if the Buckeyes were going to lose their first game of the season this week against Notre Dame before a second-half eruption allowed them to sneak by with a 90-85 victory. EJ Liddell led them with 19 points and 12 rebounds, along with three blocks and steals each. The Buckeyes are still without Seth Towns and likely won’t have him in a rough upcoming stretch, starting with matchups against both Purdue and North Carolina this week.
