2. Kentucky continues to struggle

The Wildcats started the year with a win but since then have lost four straight games. Their first loss was to Richmond, which was a surprise but the Spiders are a good mid-major team so not completely shocking. The next came to Kansas in the Champions Classic. The Jayhawks are a good team so no shame in losing to them, but then the past week happened.

First, the Wildcats lost to Georgia Tech by 17 and then followed it up with a loss to the previously bad-looking Notre Dame team.

John Calipari is always trying to mesh a team together with five-star freshman players and sometimes it can take longer for them to completely gel and become a great team. But in the past they have still won games they were supposed to.

This year they are dropping games they would normally win and they have looked really bad doing it. They did almost complete a 22 point comeback against Notre Dame but came up just short. While the second half was very good the first half was just bad. The Wildcats looked lost on offense and had zero flow to their game.

The Wildcats can snap out of this as they have the talent to do it, but a 1-4 start is foreign territory for Kentucky and it will be interesting to see what they can make out of this season. It doesn’t get any easier as their next two games are against UCLA and Louisville.
