3. Isaih Moore

The shining star for the Red Storm during Sunday night’s defeat in the nation’s capital was junior forward Isaih Moore.

The former JUCO All-American from Pearl River Community College scored 18 of his 26 points in the second half of tonight’s contest and blocked two shots in 32 minutes of action.

The Columbia, S.C., native also recorded his first double-double of the season, corralling a career-high 16 rebounds in the overtime loss. No Johnnie had recorded more than 14 rebounds in a game since Tariq Owens did so almost three years.

Moore led St. John’s to win the rebound margin tonight, 45-34 and secured seven of the team’s 20 offensive rebounds on Sunday.

Moore was also calm and collected from the free throw line, cashing in on all six of his attempts from the charity stripe.

Head Coach Mike Anderson has had to rely upon some of his newcomers this season, with Moore, Alexander, and Cole all consistently finding themselves in the starting lineup.

Tonight was Moore’s coming-out showing and if Anderson can get all of his newcomers and experienced team leaders such as Champagnie, Williams, Earlington, and Rasheem Dunn clicking on all cylinders, the Red Storm will most definitely show better results and play full and consistent 40-minute games.
