2.Beyond the arc issues

Kansas is among the most efficient three-point shooting teams, shooting on average 40 percent from the field. Kansas was held to 6-18 from beyond the arc and only one player made more than one (Agbaji). Garrett was 0-3 and Wilson only made one.

Although the Jayhawks were near flawless from the free throw line (14-15), three-point shooting needs to improve. Especially with better offenses ahead, like Baylor, West Virginia, and Texas. Christian Braun has been a threat for the Jayhawks, draining 44 percent of his shots from three-point range. He had averaged almost 12 points per game but was held to just two points. Both of those points came from the free throw line.

There were plenty of issues, but shooting from deep has to be fixed against other teams. It’s encouraging to see that the Jayhawks can still win games while playing poor basketball.

The Jayhawks started one of seven from beyond the arc and struggled to score. Not every team is going to match those stats like Tech similarly did. Self is among the best coaches in the country and he outcoached Chris Beard over the last few minutes. Especially with the key inbound plays coming out of timeouts.

The Jayhawks will have to do much more in their next contest against a Top 10 opponent.
