Stock up

Jones is another big who is coming off the bench and making a big impact. After a quiet freshman season, Jones has taken a clear leap. He’s shown improvements as a scorer and an interior defender.

Jones has impressed me most with his movement skills for his size. It’s routine for Texas to get a stop, and Jones be the first guy down the court for the Longhorns. He uses his movement skills on offense to create offense for himself. He leads the Longhorns in box plus/minus at +10.1.

Jones has shown improvement as a shooter. After making just seven threes last season, he’s up to 5-11 from deep this season. He’s passed up some open ones, that I’d like to see him attempt.

Jones’ lack of strength makes me question his position. He’s been pushed around by stronger bigs thus far. I’m unsure what frontcourt position he is in the NBA. He’s still a project, but he’s a project with clear potential and that has been on full display thus far.
