The Terps efficient shooting in the second half sealed the victory

Maryland basketball had games like this at the Xfinity Center. That is to be expected because that’s the home environment. Having a performance like that on the road is something to be proud of. The Terps managed to stay within four points of a very impressive Wisconsin team in the first half and exploited weaknesses in the Badgers defense by going inside often in the second half.

They moved the ball very well in this game. It rarely stood still and the Terps turned the ball over nine times which isn’t bad considering they have had issues with ball security in the past.

Maryland basketball has a gauntlet-like schedule in the next four games. They will face the No. 16 Michigan Wolverines, Indiana Hoosiers, No. 10 Iowa Hawkeyes, and No. 15 Illinois Fighting Illini. If they can finish that stretch at 2-2, that would be ideal but it’s going to be tough.

In that same stretch, the Badgers are going to play the 21st ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers to end 2020. They beat Iowa and blew out the Spartans, 81-56, on Monday. The Badgers open the new year playing the Penn State Nittany Lions, Indiana, and Michigan.
