14. Nebraska Cornhuskers

There hasn’t been a whole lot has gone Nebraska’s way since Fred Hoiberg took over and it doesn’t look like this will be the year the Cornhuskers will be able to turn it around. This is Hoiberg’s second head coaching position in the NCAA ranks and managed to send Iowa State to the Tournament in four of his five years in Ames, but it looks like it may take longer to get Nebraska back.

Still winless in conference play, the team has struggled offensively, ranking last in the league in field goal percentage, shooting just 42% from the field. Teddy Allen and Dalano Blanton have been offensive bright spots, averaging 18.2 and 14.2 points per game, respectively.

Nebraska has only made the NCAA Tournament once since joining the Big Ten in 2011-12, and the slow start won’t help improve those odds this year. All four of their matchups against ranked opponents this season have resulted in double-digit blowout losses. It can only get better from here, but with the loaded competition in the conference, it may be a long season for Cornhuskers fans.
