NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Top-40 wing Gradey Dick releases top 8

Florida Gators
A lot of discussions centering around the Gators program in recent seasons has not been the lack of talent on the roster, but rather on-court decisions and playing style that handcuff players from performing.
Thoroughbreds like Scottie Lewis have not been allowed to run free to utilize their athleticism to carry the day for Florida. These decisions by head coach Mike White have been frustrating, to say the least and the issue of playing style is at the forefront of consideration for Dick in terms of picking his next destination.
However, the current pace of play decisions should not be a deterrent towards his decision to attend Florida. Dick is the type of prospect that will excel in both up-tempo and half-court situations due to his ability to read defenses and make ideal plays for his team to win. Additionally, the Gators are set to lose their top five guards on the roster by the 2022 seasons leaving only Ques Glover, Niels Lane and 2021 commit Kowacie Reeves to fill out the backcourt.
Frankly, the Gators need bodies on the roster to put forth a quality product. Dick is an extremely balanced prospect already at this point in his development and would be a great pillar for Coach Mike White to lean on. Florida does not have a huge perimeter threat projected to be on their roster in 2022, but Dick can assuredly handle that responsibility as well as making life much easier for Glover and Lane as the primary ball handlers.
