Kansas Jayhawks – BYU

After getting owned by Texas on Saturday, Kansas could have easily trended towards the “sell” category depending on their performance against TCU. The Horned Frogs were hot and looking to pull off the upset, however, the Jayhawks showed once again why they are a Final Four caliber team with a 29-point win vs TCU. Kansas can claim four ranked wins this season and are the most battle-tested team in the country.

They are led by Marcus Garrett, who needs to step it up if they are to win the Big 12. The matchup with Baylor on January 18th is looming and will be important for Kansas’s image in the big picture, but they must win their next three games against unranked foes first. Despite the historic loss at the hands of Texas, I reluctantly say buy stock now!

Oklahoma State – BUY

The Cowboys here may surprise you, but they are 7-3, all three of those losses coming by a combined seven points. Oklahoma State could easily be 10-0 and would likely be the 2nd most hyped up team in the league behind Gonzaga, however, they did lose those three games. They are not bad losses, two to ranked teams and the other to a 9-3 TCU team.

That in and of itself is enough to be optimistic about, but the wins against Texas Tech and Marquette on the road prove what this team is capable of. Remember they are currently eligible for the NCAA Tournament as their postseason ban appeal is still under review, and they certainly look like a tournament team around the 7 line.

Cade Cunningham was the top recruit in the class of 2020, and he has lived up to the expectations averaging around 19 PPG, 6 RPG, and 4 APG. Isaac Likekele and Bryce Williams have begun to contribute a ton for the Cowboys, and the twins Kalib and Keylan Boone are crucial to the team’s success as well.

Three of Oklahoma State’s next five games include Kansas, Baylor, and West Virginia, and they will need to win at least one of them to stay relevant. I will come out and say right here that they will win one of those games and carry that momentum down the stretch. Buy stock in the Cowboys now!
