Alabama Crimson Tide

One of the best in terms of guard development, head coach Nate Oats turned former Villanova point guard Jahvon Quinerly into an All-SEC caliber player, while Jaden Shackelford leads the team in scoring once again at 13.3 ppg. The overall offense can be appealing for a guard like Burnett and they’re used to having multiple capable ball-handlers on the court.

While the Tide does have five-star 2021 PG commit JD Davison coming in, there’s a real chance that they could lose Shackelford, Quinerly, and senior John Petty. There would be available minutes for Burnett if he chooses Alabama and would be in a better fit offensively.

Auburn Tigers

The fate of five-star freshman Sharife Cooper’s status this season is still unknown, as the NCAA investigates his eligibility. Either way, he’s likely going pro in the offseason. And after JD Davison picked Alabama over Auburn, they’ll be in need of finding another guard to pair with Justin Powell for next year.

The Tigers also have a fast-paced offense that has been beneficial to past perimeter players. And with five-star 2021 forward Jabari Smith coming in for next season, adding a high ceiling talent such as Burnett could be what’s needed to get the team back in the top-tier of the SEC.
