Pac-12 Basketball: Oregon, UCLA continues to stay on top of power rankings
4. USC Trojans
The USC Trojans are 9-2 this season and 3-1 in conference play. They check in as the 4th team in my power rankings.
USC is led by superstar freshman Evan Mobley who is averaging 16.2 points per game and 9.0 rebounds he is also shooting 40 percent from three.
Other important players are guards Tahj Eddy 12.5, Drew Peterson 10.4 points per game, and Isaiah Mobley 9.7 points and 8.0 rebounds.
According to Kenpom USC is ranked 21st in the country and has done a very good job at the defensive end by ranking 12th. With the Mobley brothers and Chavez Goodwin, the Trojans have the 6th highest block rate in the country.
The Trojans are huge, and according to their basketball Twitter account. USC is the tallest team in the nation. With Ethan Anderson hurt, outside of Tahj Eddy all USC’s rotation players are over 6.6. The size, athleticism of their roster, and defensive IQ of the team are the reason’s why USC has the 3rd best two-point percentage defense in the country.
Honestly, USC has a lot of talent and could be ranked higher. All four of these top teams were really close for me and I could have put them in any order. I’m just kind of going with my gut here and put USC at 4. The Trojans have been impressive this season.
