The Cowboys left with arguably, the most impressive performance of the week. Oklahoma State controlled the majority of their contest against Kansas and finished with an emphatic statement.
Oklahoma State scored 46 points in the first half and was led by a fantastic performance from Cade Cunningham. he Freshman finished with 18 points on 6-12 from the field and 3-6 from beyond the arc. The Cowboys shot 42 percent from beyond the arc and won the free throw battle.
Over the years, it seems like the Jayhawks would get the friendly whistle. However, that was not the case on Tuesday, with Kansas accumulating more fouls than Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma State’s bench was not an impact, with Rondel Walker being the only player to make more than one field goal. The bench did not need to be a difference as Oklahoma State’s lead grew to as much as 16 at one point.
Oklahoma State’s program had to shut down, due to COVID-19 regulations. They are hoping to pick up their season on Saturday against Baylor.
Previous Games: 79-77 loss to Texas Tech, 82-67 win over Kansas State.
Next Games: Tuesday at. Iowa State, Saturday at. TCU.
It was a less than desirable finish for the Longhorns in a heartbreaking loss to Texas Tech. On a night where four Longhorns scored in double figures, Texas could not surge past the Red Raiders. The Longhorns had 15 turnovers and had the lead as large as 12. Texas felt like they had enough control of the game to come out with the win.
Texas Tech led for just three seconds in the game. However, it was the most important three second and would be the Longhorns’ first loss, since their early-season matchup with Villanova.
The Longhorns would bounce back on Saturday, with a 15-point win over Kansas State. Four Longhorns scored in double figures once again and were lead by 52 percent shooting from the field. Courtney Ramey posted nine assists and Andrew Jones led the team in scoring with 19 points.
The Longhorn bench was ineffective, with just 12 points from three players. That is an area Texas can improve on.
