The Bears have not had much luck with playing scheduled games against Top 25 opponents. After their West Virginia tilt was postponed on Tuesday, Baylor would turn their attention to Texas Tech. Both teams played single-digit games last year, including a 71-68 OT win in Waco last season.

Both teams dominated with defense and relied on late offense to prevail. Jared Butler had his worst game in a Baylor uniform, scoring seven points and shooting 2-11 from the field. He also added seven turnovers to his final total.

It was Davion Mitchell and Adam Flagler that carried the load offensively. Mitchell finished with 19 points on 6-12 from the field and 3-6 from beyond the arc. Flagler secured 27 minutes off the bench and added 15 points. He also shot over 50 percent from the field and made three of his six attempted three-pointers
