Biggest matchups for the game

It is very obvious that the Titans and Golden Grizzlies will be competitive as league play continues with each team being led by pairs of conference potential all-conference players. Oakland’s Jalen Moore is averaging 18.6 points per game along with averaging just under eight assists and four rebounds per game as well. He has scored 25 or more points in four games thus far this season and has become the general of the Golden Grizzlies offense.

His teammate, Rashad Williams is averaging just under 14 points per game and has made five or more three-pointers in five games this season. On the road this season, he scored 32 against Oklahoma State and a season-high 36 points against Michigan State. Coach Kampe has said on multiple occasions that these two have the potential to be the best backcourt among all the mid-major backcourt in college basketball. If Oakland has a chance of competing for a conference championship, both Williams and Moore need to continue to play at a 1st team All-Horizon pace.

For Detroit Mercy, they are lead by Antoine Davis has made one thing clear after his last game performance against Green Bay, he not only vying for a spot on the All-Horizon 1st team but he still has a chance of being named the Horizon League Player of the Year when all is said and done.

This season, he is averaging 19 points per game and 3.7 assists per game and even though his stats are not as high as last season, it does not begin to tell how much he means to the success of his team this season. Besides his 30-point performance against Green Bay, he has scored 24 in a road loss against Michigan State, 21 points against Kent State, and 26 points in the other game against Green Bay. He is not scoring as much as last season but they may be a good reason why.

Cal Baptist transfer Bul Kuol has been a great addition to UDM’s basketball team this season and is helping carry the offensive load. He is the Titans second-leading scorer averaging just over 16 points a game and he is also a three-point shooting threat. In games where he has made at least three 3-pointers, he has shot over 50% from beyond the three-point arch in five games this season thus far.

His best game of the season was when he was six for twelve from three-point range scoring a season-high 28 points in the Titans overtime loss to Oakland. If the Titans want to prove all of those who picked them to finish near the bottom in the conference, these two Titans both must be the catalysts for their success moving forward.
