NCAA Basketball: Ranking state of Michigan programs midway in 2020-21 season

Record vs. state of Michigan D1 teams: 2-4 with losses on the road to Michigan State and Oakland and two home losses to Oakland. The Titans have two road victories one being against Western Michigan and the other being against Oakland.

Ken Pom rankings: 198
They are placed ahead of Western Michigan in these power rankings because they defeated the Broncos on the road and they are ranked above Central Michigan due to having a higher ranking in both the Net and KenPom rankings. They are placed below Oakland in this power ranking because they have lost to the Golden Grizzlies in three out of four games this season.
Detroit Mercy had a rough start to the season with the bright spots being that they beat the Broncos on the road and played Michigan State tough on the road before losing by single digits. The Titans had their struggles early, with their most disappointing non-conference game being a double-digit home loss to Kent State.
In conference play, they started off losing both home games to Wright State by double digits and then losing two more home games by three or fewer points to Oakland. However, they would bounce back and begin to win some ball games.
The Titans would have their best game of the year when they beat Green Bay by 25 points. They would beat them again the following game as well. Then Detroit Mercy after losing a game they fought back from being down 20 plus points on the road against the Golden Grizzlies and only losing by five, the Titans defeated Oakland for the first time in years on the road. Detroit Mercy has now won three of their last five games. They next play a weekend series on the road against Youngstown State.
