Big 12 Basketball power rankings: Oklahoma climbs after SEC invasion
By Andrew Tineo
Previous games: 87-88 loss to West Virginia, 76-71 win at. LSU
Next games: Monday vs. No. 24 Oklahoma, Saturday at. Kansas State
It was an emotional rollercoaster for the Red Raiders. Even with a 30-point performance from Mac McClung, McBride’s game-winner did enough for the Mountaineers. That, however, was not the only great game from McClung over the week.
Texas Tech traveled to play LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday and put up one of the best games of the weekend. Neither team shot well, but the team’s best players showed up when they needed to.
With the game looking to be in LSU’s hands, Texas Tech would make a ferocious come back late to edge the Tigers. The Red Raiders were down seven with a minute to go after Shareef O’Neal made his first and only shot of the game.
The Red Raiders would go on a 12-0 run, led by Terrence Shannon and McClung. McClung made two huge three-pointers to keep them in the game. Shannon would finish off the Tigers with free throws to prevail.
One of the hottest teams in the conference comes into town on Monday as Oklahoma is coming off of three straight top 10 wins.
