The Tide’s three-point shooting

It’s no secret that Alabama is one of the top three-point shooting teams in college basketball. The Crimson Tide did in fact just break their own record set last year for made three-pointers in one game a few weeks ago against LSU with 23 made. If Missouri wants any chance of picking up a massive win against the Tide, they must slow down the Tide’s hot shooting.

Yes, Alabama is shooting 35.5% from three as a team, but don’t get it twisted, this team can get hot at any moment. Alabama has embraced head coach Nate Oats play style of either shoot a three or a layup nothing else, and it’s worked.

Leading the charge for the Tide from three-point range is senior guard John Petty Jr, who is averaging 13.2 PPG, shooting 39.7% from three, and recently became the all-time leader in Alabama history in made three-point field goals. Sophomore Jaden Shackelford and freshman Joshua Primo are also two players Missouri must contain shooting from outside, each of which can get hot at any moment.

It isn’t just those three only though. Every single member of Alabama’s team is a threat from beyond the three-point line and can get hot at any moment. Petty, Shackelford, Primo, Jones, Quinerly, Reese, and the list goes on. If Alabama comes out making their threes, it will be tough for Missouri to keep up.
