The Texas Longhorns summarized the Jayhawks season in 45 minutes of play. Bad free throws, costly turnovers, and lack of a star player to step up. The defense was as expected, suffocating Texas and forced them to take really bad three-point attempts.

Braun immediately drained a three-pointer to begin the overtime period. Both teams would trade blows back and forth, with 12 seconds left and a two-point lead for Texas. One of the aforementioned turnovers reared its ugly. With a wide-open lane for a lane up, Jalen Wilson turned it over and would end the game for the Jayhawks.

Kansas went 12-21 from the free throw line and made eight of their 24 three-point attempts.

Due to having no cancellations from the program, Kansas’ season finale came on Saturday against No. 2 Baylor.

On Senior Day, Kansas got the better of the Bears with the upset of the year. The Jayhawks were able to dominate down low, with a 20-point performance from David McCormack. He finished 8-10 from the field, while Marcus Garrett finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.

They suffocated the Bears from beyond the arc, limiting them to 23.1% from beyond the arc. Even with the Jayhawks out of the title picture in the regular season, there’s not a better way to finish the season.

Due to having no COVID pauses, Kansas will be on a break of their own until the Big 12 Tournament. The rest of the conference will either be finishing their regular season or rescheduling the games that were canceled.
