Connecticut

It’s been a solid first season for the Huskies as they’ve returned to the Big East this season. The conference hasn’t been its best this year, especially with teams like Butler, Marquette, and Seton Hall really struggling at times. Someone’s had to pick up the slack behind Villanova and the Huskies have certainly proven their worth.

The Huskies got a pair of wins to extend their winning streak, concluding the regular season on a hot streak. They traveled to Seton Hall on Wednesday and took care of business against the Pirates, getting 17 points and 10 rebounds from Isaiah Whaley in a double-digit win. Saturday gave the Huskies another double-digit win, as they took care of Georgetown at home, with 21 points from James Bouknight leading the way.

Connecticut enters the postseason with a 14-6 record, with an 11-6 mark in their first season back in the Big East. They’ve done exceptionally well for the most part, even if they struggled against Creighton and Villanova in three outings this season. They do possess wins over USC and Xavier, though they’ve had limited chances to impress.

From the 3-seed in the Big East Tournament, these Huskies can certainly do damage and set themselves up well for the NCAA Tournament. Connecticut will be in the NCAA Tournament, but perhaps a few solid wins can boost them up the seed line even further.
