3. What coach is going to get fired that no one is expecting? – Patrick Madden (@TheSportsJD)

Patrick gave me specific rules to not include Greg McDermott from Creighton on this list as many think that with the FBI investigation and his comments about his players playing on a plantation is going to be a little too much for him to survive. He is currently suspended by the administration and things are not trending positively for McDermott.

Outside of McDermott, there is another coach who will probably get fired and it’s because of his total lack of ability to accept criticism and make himself and his team better. Jerry Stackhouse at Vanderbilt has been a disaster for two seasons. When Stack was hired he promised an uptick in recruiting and a return to the glory days when Vanderbilt was making the tournament every season. What the Commodores got was the complete opposite.

The program is no better off in the two years that Stackhouse has taken over the program. He got a program in shambles and has done nothing to change the fortune. Stackhouse is not recruiting at an elite enough level to turn this team around and the talent he does have doesn’t seem to be gelling or developing.

All the Commodore headman has done in the last two seasons is block all of his haters on social media and not give interviews. I am likely going to be blocked by Stackhouse for writing this. Vanderbilt is likely not going to fire their head coach but it would be warranted if they did and one more year like this one in Nashville and it may happen.
