Best Potential Second Round Matchups

While we now currently know the matchups for the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, we can start to look ahead to some potential Round of 32 matchups. There are in fact some potential great pairings ahead in the Second Round.

The obvious potential great matchup comes from the Midwest Region where 4-seed Oklahoma State could potentially face 5-seed Tennessee. This would be a phenomenal matchup, as well as showcasing presumed #1 pick Cade Cunningham vs the elite Tennessee defense.

That wouldn’t be the only potential great matchup however as we could see others such as Baylor vs North Carolina, Michigan vs LSU, Arkansas vs Texas Tech, and more.

While the First Round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament is set and looks great, the Second Round has the potential to be even better based on how a few games play out. Buckle up, the Madness has arrived.

Last Four In

Did the Committee get it right when it came to the Last Four In?

The last four teams in the 2021 NCAA Tournament were Michigan State, UCLA, Wichita State, and Drake. Each of these teams comes in as an 11-seed with Michigan State playing UCLA and Wichita State playing Drake, both of which are Play-In games to see who will face 6-seeds USC and BYU.

If you had to choose one team however that may have gotten “lucky” in making the NCAA Tournament, it may be Wichita State. The Shockers only played 19 games this season going 14-5, but are the lowest-ranked team in the NET at #72. The Shockers also only have 2 Quad 1 wins, which isn’t the least of the four, but not as much as some teams left out.

Overall, I’d say the Selection Committee got it right for the most part. Sure Louisville or Colorado State may have been more deserving, but time will tell whether these were the correct four teams.
