Mid-Major Basketball: Top 10 stars that will impact 2021 NCAA Tournament
#3 Asbjorn Midtgaard – Grand Canyon University
A physical specimen out of Grand Canyon University all the way from Helsingor, Denmark, Asbjorn Midtgaard is a lot to handle. The old school big man who likes to work within the post has great footwork alongside the size and strength. The transfer from Wichita State has made a huge impact for the Antelopes averaging 14 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, while shooting close to 70% from the field.
#2 Neemias Queta – Utah State
The seven-footer from Barreiro, Portugal is another massive problem for any opposing team offensively and defensively. Junior center Neemias Queta averaged 15.1 points, 10 rebounds and is third in the NCAA in blocks per game with 3.2. While watching the Aggies he will definitely be someone to keep your eye on for not only his shot-blocking but how he moves in the post on the offensive side as well.
#1 Max Abmas – Oral Roberts
The leading scorer in NCAA Men’s Basketball this year is sophomore guard Max Abmas averaging 24.2 points per game while shooting 48% from the field and 43% from three. Some critics may say well who did he play against to have these averages.
Well, back in December he dropped 33 against Oklahoma State and 28 against Witchita State in back-to-back games. Abmas is ready for this moment and watch out, he can pull up and catch and shoot from at least 30 feet.
