Continue to Dominate the Glass

The Tar Heels already exhibit a huge advantage with their rebounding consistency, frontcourt height, and per-game rebounding margin. They are incredibly deep at the position and can fight through foul trouble without missing a beat in this area. Strong play for Carolina against any opponent starts with attacking the glass on both ends of the floor. Wisconsin on the other hand does not rank very high in the overall or offensive rebounding.

The Badgers feature two strong frontcourt players, in Micah Potter and Nate Reuvers, but they aren’t overbearing rebounding forces. Instead, the Badgers manage to roster seven players who pull down at least three boards apiece per game.

The collective approach and production by the Badgers guards help to neutralize bigger threats like the Tar Heels. This method of attacking the glass is crucial for Wisconsin to overcome their overall lack of offensive rebounding production and second-chance opportunities on the offensive end.

It’s not too big of an ask for North Carolina to continue playing their proven style of play. However, it’s imperative they maintain their positive margin in this category to cripple Wisconsin’s typical style of play. Doing so will hinder an already inefficient scoring team and make them more desperate and out-of-character throughout the game.
