2. The impact of Davion Mitchell on the floor

Even if he didn’t lead the team in scoring, his presence might have been among the most important in the contest. When Baylor cannot make three-pointers, it’s Mitchell that uses his speed and body control to drive by a defender and score with ease.

Among the quickest players in the country, Mitchell has been money in finishing in the paint. When the three-point shooting has not been there, the reliability of Mitchell near the rim has been.

Although the three-point shot has not been falling so far in the tournament, Mitchell has been the most efficient shooter from beyond the arc, at an outrageous 45% clip.

The team was significantly better when he was on the floor, with his +16 in the +/- category. Mitchell continues to soar up draft boards and may have very well put himself in the NBA Lottery area.

Regardless of that success, the sight of a national championship seems to be the only focus any of the bears have.
